Investigation of Fake Bhutanese Refugees Case Must Be Free of Political Influence: NC’s Thapa
MP Gagan Kumar Thapa has called for strict action to be taken against anyone involved in the case of fake Bhutanese refugees. During a discussion on the principles and priorities of the Appropriation Bill, 2080/81 in today’s meeting of the House of Representatives, Thapa stated that the investigation should be fair and independent, and not influenced by market rumors or political meetings.
Thapa stressed that no one should be spared if found guilty, regardless of their party affiliation or status. He emphasized that the slogan of good governance can only be raised if the government stands up with a strong foot in the case of fake Bhutanese refugees.
Thapa also acknowledged that the citizens are closely watching the current investigation process, and urged the government to ensure that the investigation is carried out impartially and independently. He called for transparency in the investigation to build public trust.
The issue of fake Bhutanese refugees has been a major concern in recent times. There have been reports of some individuals obtaining citizenship and other benefits by falsely claiming to be refugees from Bhutan. This has resulted in genuine refugees being denied assistance and benefits.
The government has launched an investigation into the matter, and Thapa’s call for strict action against those involved will add to the pressure on the authorities to take swift and decisive action. The government needs to ensure that justice is done and that those found guilty are held accountable for their actions. The citizens are looking to the government to ensure that the investigation is conducted impartially and that justice is served.
