Investment Summit will help bring in foreign investment: CNI President Agrawal
President of the Confederation of Nepalese Industries, Rajesh Kumar Agrawal, has expressed the belief that foreign investment would increase in the country as the government has implemented maximum facilitation policy to create investment-friendly environment.
The private sector is being excited from government’s steps to improve environment of investment in the country, he shared.
Talking to RSS about the Third Investment Summit taking place from Sunday, CNI President Agrawal mentioned that Nepal has been identified as the best destination for investment. He further said the private sector, also the co-organiser of the Third Investment Summit, has become excited from present environment and is ready to invest.
“We are now ready for investment. Potential areas have already been identified. The government has facilitated by amending acts and rules. It is also ready for policy-level, procedural and structure-level reforms if needed. The private sector is also ready to support”, explained President Agrawal.
He expressed hope that Nepal would be successful to show its potential and convince investors for investment through this investment summit.
“Country’s economy is under pressure due to economic crisis. It will definitely improve after certain period of time. One cannot get result the day after the investment. It will take time. The country’s situation will improve while getting the result of today’s investment,” he explained.
This investment summit would help foreign investors to understand the real situation of Nepal and increase foreign investment, opined President Agrawal, adding that we are confident that there is appropriate environment for investment in Nepal.
Hydropower, tourism, agriculture, information technology have been identified as the main areas of investment in Nepal and the government has put these areas on priority. Education, health, transport and infrastructure sectors have also equal potential. A decision has been taken to present 150 projects of different sectors in the investment summit.
