
Iranian Couple Arrested for Possessing Undeclared Foreign Currencies


Nepal Police have arrested an Iranian couple at Tribhuvan International Airport for possessing undeclared foreign currencies.
Yazdanyar Majdiahi, 40, and his wife Pegha Taheri, 35, were detained in the baggage checking area of the departure lounge with various currencies, including $12,500, 4,200 British Pounds, 1,750 euros, 8,800 Indian rupees, 16,500 UAE dirhams, and 840,000 Sri Lankan rupees.
The couple was preparing to board a SriLankan Airlines flight to Colombo.
The police have handed the couple over to the Department of Revenue Investigation, Pulchowk, for further investigation.
