Jeep Accident in Panchthar: 1 Dead and 13 Injured

In a devastating incident on the Panchthar section of Mechi Highway, a fatal jeep accident resulted in the loss of one life and left 13 others injured. The accident occurred in Phidim Municipality 2, Saamdin, at approximately 1 o’clock in the afternoon.

The ill-fated vehicle, a jeep with the registration number Me 1, Ja1941, was en route from Birtamode in Jhapa to Taplejung when the tragedy struck.

Tragically, a 35-year-old man lost his life in the accident, but not yet disclosed his identity.

Among the injured, 40-year-old Sabina Bishwakarma from Taplejung is reported to be in critical condition. Alongside Sabina, another individual’s condition is also listed as critical. Both have been swiftly transported to a well-equipped hospital in Jhapa for immediate and specialized medical attention, as per the information provided by the Panchthar police.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident to ascertain the factors that led to this tragic event.
