JSP lawmaker Rahman dies of heart attack
Janata Samajbadi Party lawmaker Shahnaz Rahman has died of a heart attack today. She was 64. She died at Madyapur Hospital, Thimi.
Rahman collapsed all of a sudden when she had been participating in a picnic at Ghyampedanda in Suryabinayak Municipality-3 in Bhaktapur district today, said Superintendent of Police Prajit KC.
Shortly, she was rushed to the hospital where the doctors declared her dead, he added.
Originally from Bhadrapur Municipality-6 in Jhapa district, and currently living in Mid Baneshwor, Kathmandu, Rahman, who was also the JSP central member, got into the House of Representatives through the proportional representation from the Muslim cluster.
Preparations were underway to take her body for the after-death process after going through the legal process at the hospital, said the police.
