KMC Padlocks Two Pharmacies for Rule Breaches

The Health Department of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) padlocked two pharmacies located within the premises of the TU Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj on Thursday.

The affected pharmacies, Panorama Pharmacy and Panchakanya Pharmacy, were shut down following complaints of regulatory violations, according to Sajina Maharjan, the officiating chief of the Health Department.

The department reported several infractions at the pharmacies, including improper temperature management for vaccines, unauthorized sales of narcotic drugs, and failure to adhere to storage standards.

Maharjan stated that an ongoing investigation is being conducted to determine the appropriate actions to be taken against these pharmacies.
