KMC’s policy and programme for upcoming year endorsed
The annual policy and programme of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) for the fiscal year 2080/81 BS has been unanimously endorsed.
The second meeting of the 13th convention held today endorsed the policy and programme presented at the municipal assembly on June 21.
In the first meeting of the convention, KMC mayor Balendra Sah had presented a 11-point policy and a 125-point working policy for the upcoming year.
Key policies and programmes include ‘one ward, one park and one sports ground’; clean, green, beautiful and dust free metropolis, accessible pharmacy, establishment and operation of health promotion centre, creation of at least 5,000 new employment opportunities, support to organic food and vegetable self-sufficiency and plantation of at least 100,000 saplings.
As stated in the policy, KMC has floated a plan to brand and export traditional food and liquor, execute 10 metropolis pride projects within three years and institutionalize urban governance.
