The Koshi Province Government has extended an invitation to identity supporters for talks, urging a peaceful resolution to ongoing protests. A meeting of the provincial government’s dialogue committee, held earlier today, formally called on the agitating groups to engage in discussions.
The decision comes as protests continue in various locations, including Taplejung, drawing the government’s serious attention. The committee, led by Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning Ram Bahadur Rana, emphasized the need for dialogue to address the concerns of identity supporters.
Regarding the ongoing construction of a cable car in Pathibhara, Taplejung, Minister for Internal Affairs and Law Rewatiraman Bhandari reaffirmed the government’s commitment to resolving disputes through negotiation.
The dialogue committee, formed in November 2024, includes Minister Rana as coordinator, alongside Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development and Health Bhupendra Rai, Minister for Internal Affairs and Law Bhandari, and Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law Kamal Thapa. The committee continues to push for a constructive dialogue to address the grievances of the protestors.
