Krishna Prasad Sitaula’s Comeback: Secures Seat in National Assembly

Krishna Prasad Sitaula, the ruling Alliance candidate from the Nepali Congress (NC), has emerged triumphant in the National Assembly election, securing a coveted seat representing Koshi Province.

Facing off against Uddhav Paudel, the joint candidate of CPN-UML and RPP, Sitaula’s win solidifies the NC’s influence in the region.

Sitaula garnered widespread support from various political factions, including the Congress, Maoist Center, Unified Socialist Party, and Janata Samajwadi Party, underscoring the collaborative effort that contributed to his victory.

This victory holds particular significance for Sitaula, who had previously faced defeat in the House of Representatives elections against Rajendra Lingden of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP). The turnaround in the National Assembly election not only redeems Sitaula’s political standing but also strengthens the position of the Nepali Congress in the region.

As Sitaula celebrates this win, political analysts anticipate a positive impact on the political landscape, with the ruling Alliance gaining momentum and consolidating its influence in Koshi Province.
