Lawmakers Condemn Campus Chief’s Killing, Push for Investigation

Lawmakers have called for a thorough investigation into the incident in which Hari Bhusan Kushwaha, the Campus Chief of Ramraja Mohan Bikram Sah Multiple Campus in Kalaiya of Bara district, was fatally shot.

Speaking during the ‘Emergency Hour’ at the House of Representatives today, CPN (UML) lawmaker Achyut Prasad Mainali strongly condemned the incident, describing Kushwaha as an academic and an honest person. Mainali highlighted recent killings in Bara district, including the murder of Rupesh Sarraf, Principal of Bal Ekata Boarding School, and urged the government to prioritize citizen security.

“The incidents of killings are increasing, causing insecurity among people living near the border due to firearms trafficking through the open border with India,” he stated. Mainali emphasized the need for immediate control of such killings and demanded justice for the victims.

Similarly, lawmaker Ashok Kumar Chaudhary of the Rastriya Swatantra Party also urged the government to investigate Kushwaha’s killing and address the recent surge in violence in the Madhesh province.

“It is tragic that educators are being targeted in broad daylight. Four people have been killed in the Madhesh province just last week. The government must investigate these heinous crimes promptly and ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice,” Chaudhary emphasized.
