Leaders Extend Christmas Greetings, Highlight Unity and Diversity
Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba and CPN (Unified Socialist) Chair Madhav Kumar Nepal have conveyed their best wishes to Nepali Christians at home and abroad on the occasion of Christmas Day.
In his message, NC President Deuba extended heartfelt wishes for happiness, peace, and prosperity to the Christian community. Highlighting Nepal’s rich multi-ethnic, multi-religious, and multi-cultural traditions, he emphasized that festivals like Christmas promote unity, friendship, and collective harmony among diverse groups.
Similarly, Unified Socialist Chair Nepal expressed hope that Christmas would strengthen goodwill, tolerance, and unity in society. He wished for happiness, prosperity, and good health for all Nepali Christians, underscoring the importance of fraternity and continued progress.
Speaker Ghimire Highlights Christmas as a Festival of Unity
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Devraj Ghimire, also extended his Christmas greetings, describing the festival as a symbol of love, tolerance, and benevolence for humanity. He noted that Nepal’s Constitution guarantees religious freedom, respecting all faiths and fostering social harmony.
“Festivals like Christmas act as bridges that unite people of different faiths, promoting peace and coexistence,” Speaker Ghimire said in his message, wishing for happiness and goodwill for all.

National Assembly Vice Chairperson Bimala Ghimire described Nepal’s diversity as a valuable asset for both the country and the global community. In her message, she called for active efforts to promote national unity by recognizing and safeguarding the rights of all communities.
Vice Chairperson Ghimire extended her best wishes for peace, prosperity, and progress to everyone celebrating Christmas, urging collective action to strengthen harmony and inclusivity in Nepal’s diverse society.
