Light to Moderate Rainfall and Snowfall Likely in Parts of Nepal
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast light to moderate rainfall and snowfall in various regions of Nepal today due to the partial influence of westerly winds.
The weather is expected to remain partly cloudy in the hilly regions, with fair skies and some variations in other parts of the country. This afternoon, hilly areas across the provinces, including Sudurpaschim and Karnali, will experience generally to fully cloudy conditions, while other regions will see partly to generally cloudy weather.
Light to moderate rainfall is predicted in a few locations across Sudurpaschim, Karnali, and Lumbini provinces, with isolated rainfall in the hilly areas of Gandaki, Bagmati, and Koshi provinces.
High-altitude areas are expected to witness snowfall, with light to moderate accumulation likely in many locations in the high hills and mountains of Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces. Similar conditions are forecast in some areas of Gandaki, Bagmati, and Koshi provinces.
For the evening, the Meteorological Forecasting Division anticipates partly to generally cloudy skies in the hilly regions of Karnali, Sudurpaschim, Gandaki, Bagmati, and Koshi provinces. Light rain is likely in parts of the hilly areas, with snowfall expected at high elevations in Sudurpaschim, Karnali, and Gandaki provinces, and at a few locations in Bagmati and Koshi provinces.
Residents in the affected areas are advised to prepare for potential weather-related disruptions and take precautions, especially in high-altitude regions prone to snowfall.
