Man Arrested with $20,000 in Attempted Smuggling to China via Rasuwagadhi Border

A man has been arrested while attempting to smuggle $20,000 to China through the Rasuwagadhi border crossing, the primary trade point between Nepal and China.

The suspect, Nurpu Tamang, was apprehended at the Rasuwagadhi checkpoint, located in Gosainkunda Rural Municipality-2 of Rasuwa district, while en route to China.

The arrest occurred at 11:00 AM on Tuesday. The operation was conducted by a joint team consisting of seven personnel led by an inspector from the Armed Police Force’s Border Outpost (BOP) in Timure, along with members of the Nepal Police and the Rasuwa Customs Office.

DSP Shailendra Thapa, Co-Spokesperson of the Armed Police, confirmed that Tamang has been handed over to the local police office in Timure for further investigation.
