Manju Khand Meets Balkrishna Khand in Detention

On the 12th day following the arrest of Balkrishna Khand, his wife, Manju Khand, made her way to the detention center to visit him. This morning, she arrived at the Kathmandu Police range and was granted access to meet her husband. The police authorized Manju’s entry into the premises where the former Home Minister Khand was being held. According to sources, they engaged in a conversation that lasted for approximately five minutes.

Khand had been confined to a room within the Deputy Superintendent of Police’s office. Since the day of her husband’s arrest, Manju had remained out of contact, rendering her mobile phone constantly switched off. In the meantime, there were reports circulating about her intention to fly to Sydney via India. Despite allegations linking her to the Fake Bhutanese Refugee scam, the police had not filed any charges against her.

It is reported that Manju returned to Nepal after receiving assurances that she would not face prosecution.
