Maoist Center Will Hold National Assembly Chairmanship, Says Janardan Sharma
CPN (Maoist Center) Deputy General Secretary and lawmaker Janardan Sharma has asserted that the National Assembly chairperson will come from their party.
Speaking to journalists after the House of Representatives meeting on Monday, Sharma stated that the Maoist Center claims the chairmanship owing to its status as the largest party in the National Assembly.
He further noted that there has been no consensus among the ruling coalition parties regarding the appointment of the chairperson.
Responding to questions from journalists, Sharma mentioned that the party’s standing committee will discuss Nepali Congress’s decision not to form an alliance in the next election, which was made during its Mahasamiti meeting.
Sharma also expressed the Maoist Center’s objections to the discussions on the “People’s War” and other topics raised during the NC Mahasamiti meeting.
