Maoist Centre in opposition after six years in Karnali
In the wake of federal shakeup in ruling coalition, the CPN (Maoist Centre) has been pushed to opposition after six and half years in Karnali Province.
Four ministers representing in the province government signed away from the posts on Monday. It is the first time the Maoist Centre is in opposition since the establishment of Province government.
The new alliance made between the Nepali Congress and CPN UML at federal level not only topped the Pushpa Kamal Dahal-led government in centre but also paved way to NC-UML alliance at provinces.
The Karnali Province has so far got 18 ministers and two Chief Ministers from Maoist Centre.
Now, the NC and UML will make a new government. They have initiated the discussion as per direction from central level, according to Devraj Singh, Province Assembly member of Nepali Congress.
