Massive Fire Ravages Over 65 Houses in Sarlahi’s Baraudhoran Village

In a devastating incident today, over 65 houses were destroyed in a fire at Baraudhoran village, located in Bishnu rural municipality-1, Sarlahi. The blaze reportedly erupted following a gas cylinder explosion in the house of a local resident, Shatrughan Raut, around 1:00 PM.

Ward President Bikau Thakur confirmed that the fire spread rapidly, fueled by the exploding cylinder. It took about four hours to extinguish the flames, with concerted efforts from local residents, Nepal Police, Armed Police, and multiple fire tenders responding to the emergency.

Mayor Jawaharlal Yadav revealed the extent of the disaster has impacted more than just the homes destroyed directly by fire. According to him, over 100 houses in the village suffered damage, and the community also lost significant amounts of food stock, clothing, and many livestock. A comprehensive assessment of all losses is still pending.

Superintendent of Police Hariharnath Yogi assured that the fire is now under control, and authorities are currently engaged in a detailed evaluation of the damage. The community faces a long recovery process ahead, and efforts are being mobilized to provide necessary aid and support to the affected families.

The local government and emergency services are urging for support and coordination from national authorities and humanitarian organizations to address the immediate needs of displaced and affected villagers.
