Mayor Shah’s Plea to Expose Corruption: Don’t make baseless accusations, Send me Concrete Proof
In a bold move to combat corruption within the Kathmandu Metropolitan Municipality (KMM), Mayor Balen Shah has launched a groundbreaking initiative, encouraging citizens to report instances of corruption with substantial evidence. The mayor’s call for accountability comes as part of his commitment to promoting transparency and fostering a corruption-free administration.
Mayor Balen has called upon the public to report instances of corruption by providing substantial evidence. In an effort to combat bribery and illicit practices within the metropolitan city, Mayor Shah has published his contact number, urging individuals to file complaints via WhatsApp at 9863592011. He emphasized that the identity of the complainants would be strictly confidential, as he is the sole custodian of the mobile phone.
Addressing the issue through social media on Monday, Mayor Shah highlighted the challenge of detecting corruption when it occurs out of sight. “We cannot see corruption happening, but we can empower our community to gather evidence. Rather than making baseless accusations, we encourage everyone to collect proof if any employee solicits money in any form at the Kathmandu Metropolitan City Office under our jurisdiction,” the mayor stated.
