Meeting Between Indian Minister of External Affairs and Foreign Secretary
Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal, currently on a diplomatic visit to India, held a significant meeting with India’s Minister of External Affairs, Dr. S. Jaishankar, reinforcing bilateral ties between the two nations.
Minister Jaishankar took to social media to express his delight in welcoming Foreign Secretary Lamsal to Delhi. He underscored his satisfaction with the progress achieved across various dimensions of bilateral relations between India and Nepal.
Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal’s visit to India coincides with her participation in the Asia Economic Dialogue, scheduled to take place in Pune from February 29th to March 2nd, 2024. Leading a delegation, Secretary Lamsal will engage in the opening session of the dialogue, where representatives from numerous countries will convene to address pertinent economic issues.
As part of her itinerary, Secretary Lamsal is slated to hold bilateral discussions with India’s Foreign Secretary, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, during her visit. The dialogue, jointly organized by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs and the Pune International Centre, serves as a crucial platform for deliberating on regional economic challenges and opportunities.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed the participation of Secretary Lamsal’s delegation in the multilateral conference, emphasizing its significance in fostering regional cooperation and dialogue.
Following her engagements in India, Foreign Secretary Lamsal is scheduled to return to Kathmandu on March 1st, 2024, carrying forward the momentum of collaboration and partnership between Nepal and India.
