Mini tillers distributed to 210 farmers

The Sunkoshi Rural Municipality of Sindhupalchowk District has distributed mini tillers to 210 farmers at a 50 percent grant.

With the discount, the farmers can buy the agricultural implement for Rs 14,400.

The mini tillers were provided to farmers after they deposited the necessary amounts into the rural municipality’s account, said Tapindra Timalsina. E-bidding was conducted for the purchase of the tillers.

Smart Agro Solution Pvt. was selected in the bidding for its proposal of the minimum cost.

A farmer, Prem Prasad Neupane from Sunkoshi-1, said he was happy to acquire an essential agricultural machine with assistance from the local level.

Although the rural municipality had initially planned to distribute the mini tillers to certain groups of farmers this time, it later extended the distribution to other groups due to the rising demand, according to Mohan Kumar Shrestha, Chief Administrative Officer.
