Minister Pradip Yadav Advocates for Exporting Himalayan Water
Minister for Drinking Water Pradip Yadav has proposed that Nepal consider exporting Himalayan water to third countries. Speaking at the concluding session of the Ministry’s annual review meeting on Wednesday, Minister Yadav emphasized the potential economic benefits of such an initiative.
Minister Yadav urged that the idea of exporting Himalayan water be taken seriously and explored further. He believes that this could open up new avenues for revenue and international collaboration.
In addition to discussing export opportunities, Minister Yadav directed ministry officials and its line agencies to ensure prompt and efficient service delivery. He emphasized the need for result-oriented performance, stating that there will be a review of officials’ performance to ensure accountability and effectiveness.
This proposal reflects a growing interest in leveraging Nepal’s natural resources for economic development while also enhancing the efficiency of public services.
