Ministry of Finance Reshuffles Responsibilities of Joint Secretaries

The Ministry of Finance (MoF) has undergone a significant restructuring, changing the responsibilities of six joint secretaries in a move aimed at optimizing efficiency and streamlining key functions within the ministry.

According to a ministerial decision, Mr. Mahesh Acharya has been appointed to oversee the Administration Division within the Ministry of Finance. This strategic placement is expected to enhance administrative processes and ensure smoother functioning within the ministry.

Simultaneously, Joint Secretary Mr. Rajeshwar Gyawali has been transferred to the Financial Comptroller General Office. His expertise and experience are anticipated to contribute to the efficient management and oversight of financial matters within this crucial department.

The reshuffle also involves Comptroller General Mr. Shambhu Prasad Marasini, who has been reassigned to lead the Department of Customs located in Tripureshwar. This move is seen as a measure to strengthen customs operations and foster effective trade facilitation.

Additionally, Joint Secretary Mr. Amrit Lamsal has been entrusted with the responsibility of heading the Medium Level Taxpayer Office in Babar Mahal. This appointment reflects a commitment to improving tax administration at the medium level.

Ms. Parbati Sharma is set to assume the role of Deputy Director General of the Inland Revenue Department. Her leadership is expected to contribute to the department’s objectives in revenue collection and management.

Moreover, Joint Secretary Mr. Mahesh Baral will be joining the high-level advisory committee tasked with reforming the tax system. His involvement is likely to bring valuable insights and perspectives to the committee’s efforts in reshaping the nation’s tax framework.

The Ministry of Finance expressed confidence that these changes will contribute to enhanced efficiency, transparency, and effectiveness in the execution of key functions, ultimately supporting the ministry’s overarching goals.
