National Assembly Lawmakers Demand Investigation into Alleged Irregularities in Medical Education Commission Results
During a meeting of the National Assembly (NA) today, lawmakers expressed serious concerns over alleged irregularities in the recent results released by the Medical Education Commission (MEC), calling for an immediate investigation to uncover the truth.
During the zero hour session, several lawmakers voiced their apprehensions, citing unveiled details that suggest discrepancies in the exam results. Krishan Prasad Paudel accused the MEC of negligence, while Goma Devi Timilsina highlighted that the emerging reports cast doubt on the credibility of the exams. Bhuwan Bahadur Sunuwar echoed these concerns, insisting that any anomalies in medical education must be thoroughly probed, with appropriate action taken if wrongdoing is found.
In addition to the concerns about the MEC, Narayana Datta Mishra raised the issue of Nepali citizens being stranded at airports in Brazil and Russia, calling for government intervention to assist those affected. Madan Kumari Shah brought attention to reports that Nepali citizens were unlawfully recruited into the Russian military, resulting in the deaths of 40 Nepalis. She urged the government to take immediate steps to protect and save the lives of Nepalis who have joined the Russian army.
Yubaraj Sharma also spoke during the session, urging the government to prioritize the adjustment of police forces to strengthen the federal system.
The lawmakers called on the government to provide clear information to the House regarding these issues, particularly the situation involving the Minister for Communications and Information Technology’s recent statements about the police chief.
