NC leader Arzu Rana in New Delhi
Central Member of Nepali Congress (NC) and Member of Parliament Arzu Rana Deuba, is in New Delhi.
Deuba who is also the spouse of former Prime Minister and Nepali Congress Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, reached New Delhi on Sunday for a follow-up on her health treatment , according to Deuba’s secretariat. She has been receiving medical treatment in the Indian capital for some time.
Rana, who is influential in the Nepali Congress is visiting New-Delhi for the first time after the Congress came out of power due to the collapse of the pre-election alliance.
Her visit to India, which took place after the Nepali Congress gave a vote of confidence to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, is seen with interest. Sources says that Arzu is working hard to bring the Nepali Congress back to power and New Delhi’s support will be crucial for that.
NC leader Bimalendra Nidhi had also reached New Delhi on January 4. During a visit he had a meeting with BJP’s Foreign Affairs Department chief Dr.Vijay Chauthaiwale. It is also said that Nidhi’s visit to India is the reason behind giving a vote of confidence to Prachanda by Nepali Congress.
On Saturday, Prachanda had said that he will proceed by also discusing with Congress on the speaker and presidential elections. In a discussion with various media editors on Saturday, Prime Minister Prachanda made a meaningful statement that there was no agreement between the ruling alliance on the post of Speaker and the President. Prachanda has also called an all-party meeting with the Congress on January 17 to discuss on the election of Speaker and Deputy Speaker.
Though, Leader Rana visited India for treatment, it is almost certain that there will be political meetings and discussions.
Before the general election, Arzu stayed in New Delhi for a long time for health treatment.
Leader Deuba is scheduled to return Nepal on January 18.
