NEA Board decides to resume electricity supply to industries

A meeting of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Board of Directors has decided to resume electricity supply to different six industries.

The NEA board today took the decision to provide electricity supply based on a condition. The meeting presided over by Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Deepak Khadka, also the chair of the NEA Board, decided to reconnect electricity line to the industries where power supply was cut off.

“As per the directive of the Electricity Regulation Commission, the decision was made to ensure power supply with a condition that the industries clear their dues in three months,” reads the NEA decision.

Electricity supply would be provided to the six industries where it was cut off over the issue of dues clearance.
It may be noted that the NEA had cut off the power supply to the Reliance Spinning Mills, Ghorahi Cement, Arghakhanchi Cement, Jagdamba Steel, Jagdamba Synthetics and Hulas Steel since July 9 for not paying the tariff.
