Nepal defeats Hong Kong by 9 wickets
Nepal has defeated Hong Kong by 9 wickets in today’s match held under the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup Asia Qualifiers in the United Arab Emirates.
Batting first after winning the toss, Hong Kong posted a target of 121 runs before Nepal after losing all its wickets in 46.3 overs.
For the bowling side, Hemant Dhami took three wickets, Subas Bhandari and Akash Chand two wickets each. Dipesh Kandel took one wicket.
In reply, Nepal met the target in 22.1 overs at the loss of only one wicket. Akash Tripathi contributed 64 runs for Nepal while Uttam Thapa Magar made 39 runs and Arjun Kumal 16 runs.
Nepal will play against Malaysia on Tuesday and the UAE on Thursday. Nepal, the UAE, Singapore, Kuwait, Hong Kong and Malaysia are participating in the Qualifiers.
The winner of the Qualifier will play the U-19 Cricket World Cup taking place in Sri Lanka in 2024.
