Nepal Loses to Thailand in Women’s T20 International Tri-Series

Nepal was defeated by Thailand by four wickets in the second match of the Women’s T20 International Tri-Series held at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur today.

After winning the toss, Nepal’s Captain Indu Barma opted to bat first. The Nepali women’s cricket team scored a total of 101 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Kabita Kunwar top-scored for Nepal with 25 runs off 32 balls, while Captain Indu Barma contributed 15 runs from 25 balls.

Thailand’s Thipatcha Putthawong was the standout bowler, claiming three wickets. Phannita Maya and Nattaya Boochatham took two wickets each, and Chanida Sutthiruang contributed one wicket to the Thai bowling attack.

In response, Thailand chased down the 102-run target in 19 overs, losing six wickets. Nannapat Koncharoenkai was the hero for Thailand, finishing unbeaten on 60 runs off 58 balls. Suwanan Khiaoto contributed 14 runs, while Captain Naruemol Chaiwai added 13 runs.

Nepal’s bowling efforts saw Manisha Upadhyay claim two wickets, while Kabita Kunwar, Rubina Chhetri, and Kabita Joshi each took one wicket.

Earlier in the series, Nepal suffered a 20-run defeat against the Netherlands in their first match, while Thailand secured an eight-wicket victory over the Netherlands in their opening game.
