Nepal Secures Convincing Victory Over Gujarat in SMS Friendship Cup Opener
In the thrilling inaugural match of the SMS Friendship Cup T20 tri-series, Nepal showcased its dominance by clinching a commanding victory against the Gujarat Cricket Association.
Winning the toss and electing to field first, the Nepali national team put Gujarat under pressure right from the start. Gujarat struggled to find their footing, managing to score only 98 runs before being bundled out in 18.2 overs.
In response, Nepal displayed a strong batting performance, chasing down the target with ease. They secured victory with 8 wickets in hand and 28 balls to spare, showcasing their prowess in the T20 format.
Anil Sah played a crucial role in Nepal’s victory, contributing an unbeaten 32 runs off 35 balls. Captain Rohit Paudel led from the front with an unbeaten 33 runs off 26 balls, guiding his team to victory. Openers Kushal Bhurtel and Asif Shaikh also made valuable contributions, scoring 17 runs (16 balls) and 16 runs (16 balls) respectively.
