Nepal Secures Second Consecutive Victory in India, Defeats Baroda by 27 Runs

In a thrilling encounter at the ongoing SMS Friendship Cup in India, Nepal showcased their cricket prowess once again, clinching a remarkable victory against Baroda with a commanding margin of 27 runs. The match, held on Tuesday, witnessed Nepal’s stellar performance, marking their second consecutive win in the prestigious tournament.

Batting first, Nepal set a challenging target of 157 runs for Baroda, displaying solid batting performances throughout the innings. Kushal Malla led the charge for Nepal with an impressive knock of 40 runs, while Sandeep Jora contributed 29 runs, guiding Nepal to a competitive total despite facing early setbacks.

In response, Baroda faced a daunting task of chasing down the target but fell short as they managed to score 129 runs before losing all their wickets in 20 overs. Bhanu Pania emerged as the top scorer for Baroda with a valiant innings of 36 runs, supported by Captain Vishnu Solanki’s contribution of 25 runs. However, Nepal’s disciplined bowling attack, led by Karan KC and Sompal Kami, restricted Baroda’s batting lineup and ensured victory for the Nepalese team.

Nepal’s triumph over Baroda follows their earlier triumph against Gujarat in the tournament, where they secured a convincing win by 8 wickets.
