Nepal Stock Exchange Index Climbs 15.79 Points to Close at 2,152.14

The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index continued its upward trajectory, gaining 15.79 points to close at 2,152.14 points on Tuesday. This follows a brief dip of 4.62 points on Monday after a five-day streak of gains.

During today’s trading session, shares of 168 companies saw increases, while 68 recorded declines and 10 remained unchanged. NRN Infrastructure and Development led in trading volume, with shares worth Rs 197.77 million changing hands. Nepal Finance Ltd and Janaki Finance Company Ltd followed closely with turnovers of Rs 162.14 million and Rs 135.64 million, respectively.

Among the trading groups, four reported losses, while eight experienced gains and one remained steady. The Microfinance sub-index saw the largest rise, climbing by 3.06%, followed by the Development Bank and Others sub-indices, which increased by 2.49% and 0.66%, respectively.

Market activity remained robust, with a total turnover of shares amounting to Rs 5.53 billion across 66,716 transactions. The total market capitalization of listed companies reached Rs 3.341 trillion by the end of the trading day.

Investors and analysts are cautiously optimistic about the market’s performance amidst ongoing economic developments and regulatory changes.
