Nepal Stock Exchange Index Drops by 11.60 Points

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed a decline today, with the index closing at 2060 points, down by 11.60 points from the previous session. Trading activity also saw a slight dip, with the total turnover amounting to Rs 4.05 billion compared to Rs 4.18 billion the day before.

Among the listed companies, 57 saw an increase in their stock prices, while 186 recorded declines, and 3 remained unchanged. Sectoral indices mirrored the overall downturn, with several key sectors experiencing notable decreases:

Banking Sector: Decreased by 7 points
Development Banks: Dropped by 42 points
Hotels and Tourism: Declined by 15 points
Life Insurance: Fell by 61 points
Manufacturing: Decreased by 10 points
Microfinance: Dropped by 22 points
Non-Life Insurance: Decreased by 36 points
Others Group: Declined by 9 points

Specifically, the trade and finance sectors were also affected, with decreases of 6 points and 11 points respectively.

Top Gainers and Losers

Nepal Finance emerged as the top gainer, with its stock price rising by 9.5 percent. Other notable gainers included Shivam Hydro (7.2 percent), Ganapati Microfinance (7.1 percent), Muktinath Agriculture Company (6.5 percent), and Swabhiman Microfinance (5.1 percent).

On the flip side, Sadhana Microfinance registered the highest decline, dropping by 6.3 percent. Himalayan Energy Development followed with a 5.2 percent decrease, while Mid-Solu Hydro and Samling Power recorded declines of 4.2 percent and 4.1 percent respectively.

Top Traded Companies

In terms of trading volume, Nepal Finance led the pack, followed by Goodwill Finance, NRN Infrastructure, Global IME Microfinance, and Pokhara Finance.
