Nepal Stock Exchange Plunges on First Trading Day After Holi Festival
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) faced a substantial downturn on Monday, the first trading day of the week following the Holi festival holiday.
After the closure due to the public holiday on Sunday, investors returned to find the NEPSE index plummeting by 17.01 points, settling at 2031.55 points by the day’s end.
Trading activities between 11 am and 3 pm saw transactions involving 7,061,012 shares, amounting to Rs 2,489,118,485 in total.
While the share prices of 37 companies managed to climb, a significant 204 companies saw their prices dip, leaving only three companies with stable prices.
The Hotel and Tourism, Production and Processing, and Mutual Fund sectors were the sole areas to witness positive movement, with all other sectors closing in the red.
