Nepal to Play Friendship Cup T20 Tri-Series in India
The Friendship Cup T20 Tri-Series is set to kick off on March 31st in Vapi, India, featuring Nepal, Gujarat, and Baroda.
The Nepal national cricket team will use this series as preparation for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup in 2024. The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) recently announced the schedule, with Nepal facing off against the strong sides of Baroda and Gujarat, both of which compete in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, India’s premier domestic T20 tournament.
Baroda, led by captain Krunal Pandya, finished as runners-up in the 2023 edition of the tournament, narrowly missing out on the title. Meanwhile, Gujarat, boasting players like Piyush Chawla, Ripal Patel, and Ravi Bishnoi, will be looking to make a mark in the series after their exit in the preliminary quarterfinals.
The series promises exciting cricket action, with Nepal taking on Gujarat in the opening match on March 31st. All matches will begin at 1:00 PM local time and will be held at the Vapi Cricket Ground in Vapi, India.
