Nepali and Indian Foreign Secretaries Discuss Bilateral Relations in Kathmandu Meeting
Nepal’s Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal met with her Indian counterpart, Vikram Misri, today at the Hilton Hotel in Naxal, Kathmandu. Misri is on a two-day official visit to Nepal, having arrived on Sunday, August 11, at the invitation of Secretary Lamsal.
During the meeting, the two officials discussed matters of mutual interest, with a focus on reviewing the overall dimensions of Nepal-India relations. They explored strategies for moving forward in strengthening ties and regularizing meetings of various bilateral mechanisms. Discussions also included the effective implementation of India-funded projects and programs in Nepal.
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Amrit Rai described the visit as largely introductory, noting that no agreements or pacts are expected to be signed during this trip. Misri’s visit concludes today.
