Nepali Congress deserves Presidential Post: Leader Koirala
Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dr Shekhar Koirala has said the party is expected to win the election to the President scheduled to be held on coming March 9.
In his address to a press meet organised by the Press Union, Sindhuli today, the leader said the party would win the election. As he said, the party will pick up a candidate for the election on the basis of consensus.
“The CPN (Maoist) Centre has its significant role in the election. We are in touch with the party leaders in regard with the election,” leader Koirala said and assured the party supporters and well wishers to be confident about the party victory in the election.
He hinted at the possibility of a national consensus as well if the presidential candidate is outside the political parties.
The leader took time to urge one and all to contribute for further strengthening the party and thus the democracy. “The party should reach among the people and collaborate with them on a broader range to see the consolidated democracy, good governance and the culture of political transparency, keeping the people’s trust on parties intact.”
