Nepal’s Economy Improving, Says IMF Official in Meeting with Finance Minister

Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel met with Rupa Duttagupta, the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) Deputy Director for the Asia Pacific Region, at the Ministry of Finance today.
During the meeting, Duttagupta remarked on the positive developments in Nepal’s economy. She expressed her encouragement by the recent reforms in investment facilitation laws, the implementation of the revenue mobilization strategy, and the execution of various economic recommendations, according to the Finance Minister’s Secretariat.
In response, Finance Minister Paudel highlighted that the government is working systematically to strengthen the nation’s economy.
