NEPSE Grants Stock Transaction Licenses to 90 Brokerage Firms
The Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) has announced that the number of licensed stock brokerage firms in the secondary stock market has reached 90. In the last fiscal year, 2023/24, 82 companies were permitted to operate in stock transactions, with eight additional companies granted licenses as of October 16, NEPSE reported.
Additionally, NEPSE renewed the licenses of two companies, Nagarik Stock Dealer Company Limited and Nabil Stock Dealer Limited, as stock dealers for the current fiscal year. Of the 90 registered brokerage firms, two companies—NIMB Stock Markets Limited and Himalayan Securities Limited—have received permission to conduct full transactions, while the remaining 88 are authorized for limited transactions.
This expansion in licensed brokerage firms is expected to increase trading options for investors and enhance market liquidity in Nepal’s secondary stock market.
