NEPSE Index Falls, All Subgroups Report Declines
In a reversal of fortunes from Sunday’s gains, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index witnessed a downturn on Monday, closing at 1969.02, down by 15.41 points. Market activities showed a decline in overall trading volume across all 13 subgroups, reflecting a day of widespread losses.
A total of 5,656,282 shares changed hands on Monday, resulting in a trading volume of Rs 2.06 billion, a slight decrease from Sunday’s Rs 2.26 billion.
The finance subgroup was hit hardest, registering a 2.10 percent fall, followed closely by significant losses in production and development banks subgroups. Out of 320 companies traded, 186 companies experienced a decrease in share value. Conversely, 49 companies managed to record gains, while 10 remained unchanged.
Investors are keeping a close eye on the market trends, as fluctuations in NEPSE continue to shape the investment landscape.
