Nepse Index Rallies by 13.51 Points on Sunday

The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index bounced back on Sunday, the first trading day of the week, with a gain of 13.51 points, closing at 2,083.04. This rally follows last week’s setback, where the benchmark index had dropped by 23.81 points.

The market opened strongly, quickly hitting an intra-day high of 2,085.29 points within the first 15 minutes of trading. Despite a subsequent dip, the index managed to close the session up by 0.65%.

On Sunday, the share prices of 174 companies increased, while 61 companies saw a decline and 12 remained unchanged. Among the various trading groups, three sub-indices ended the day in negative territory, whereas ten posted gains. The Manufacturing & Processing sub-index experienced the largest drop of 2.4%, whereas the Trading sub-index recorded the highest gain, up by 6.56%.

Nepal Finance Ltd topped the turnover charts with shares worth Rs 226.41 million traded. Following closely were Pokhara Finance Ltd and First Microfinance Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd, with turnovers of Rs 187.02 million and Rs 140.71 million, respectively.

Overall, the market saw shares worth Rs 4.31 billion traded through 65,654 transactions on Sunday.

This strong performance at the beginning of the week has injected a positive sentiment among investors, following the previous week’s losses.
