NEPSE Surges 52.97 Points, Biggest Gain Since May

Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) extended its winning streak for the fourth consecutive session on Sunday, adding 52.97 points to close at 2,257.59 points. This marks the largest intra-day gain since May 12, when the index climbed by 58.55 points.

The trading session witnessed substantial buying pressure, nearly pushing the benchmark index past the 2,300-point mark within minutes. Despite reaching an intra-day high of 2,290.95 points, the index settled 2.4% higher at the close.

Out of the 242 companies traded, 201 saw their share prices rise, 36 declined, and five remained unchanged. Janaki Finance Ltd led the turnover with shares worth Rs 242.75 million traded. NRN Infrastructure and Development and Global IME Bank Promoter Shares followed, with turnovers of Rs 212.74 million and Rs 207 million, respectively.

All trading groups closed in the green, with the Banking sub-index leading the gains at 3.74%. The Hydropower and Trading sectors also performed well, increasing by 3.3% and 2.21%, respectively.

The total trading volume reached Rs 7.62 billion, the highest since January 21, when the turnover hit Rs 7.63 billion.
