NEPSE Surges by 58.55 Points
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) soared for the fourth consecutive session, closing 58.55 points higher at 2,211.24 points on Tuesday.
Despite a temporary dip to an intra-day low during trading, the market swiftly regained momentum, culminating in a remarkable 2.85% increase by the session’s close. Over the span of four sessions, Nepse has seen a cumulative surge of 103.52 points.
Investor enthusiasm was evident as the share prices of 220 companies recorded gains, while only 22 experienced declines, with four remaining unchanged. Notably, Microfinance stocks garnered significant attention, with five microfinance companies hitting the positive circuit of 10% on the day.
Shivam Cement dominated the trading floor, boasting the highest turnover of the day with shares worth Rs 371.93 million changing hands. Following closely were Sonapur Minerals and Oil Ltd and Sun Nepal Life Insurance Ltd, with turnovers of Rs 240.96 million and Rs 165.22 million, respectively.
All trading groups contributed to the market rally, with the Life Insurance sub-index leading the charge with an impressive 5.44% gain. Microfinance and Hotels & Tourism sub-indices followed suit, posting gains of 5.05% and 3.93%, respectively.
Market activity remained robust, with shares worth Rs 4.55 billion traded across 82,746 transactions on the secondary market. This surge in trading activity propelled the market capitalization to reach an impressive Rs 3.31 trillion.
