The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed a remarkable surge on Tuesday, the second trading day of the week. The NEPSE index soared by 10.14 points, settling at a steady 2,041.70 points today.
Trading activity remained robust with a turnover of Rs. 2.35 billion. A total of 6,842,392 shares from 310 companies exchanged hands in 49,512 transactions.
In today’s trading session, the finance group experienced a slight dip of 0.06 points, while the life insurance and trading groups saw decreases of 0.18 points and 0.14 percent, respectively. However, all other groups observed an uptrend in their sub-indices.
Notable increases were seen in the production and promotion group, which surged by 2.11 points, and the hydropower group, which recorded a growth of 1.58 percent.
Dolpa Power Company Limited witnessed a positive circuit in its share price, contrasting with Dhualagiri Microfinance Financial Institution Limited, which saw a notable decrease of 9.35 percent.
In terms of transaction amount, Shivam Cement Limited led with transactions worth Rs. 93,139,070. Meanwhile, Joshi Hydro Power Development Company Limited recorded the highest number of shares traded, totaling 234,624 shares.
