Oli Emphasizes “Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali” as Path to Socialism

Former Prime Minister and Chairman of CPN (UML), KP Sharma Oli, reiterated his party’s commitment to establishing socialism in Nepal through the ideology of “Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali.” Speaking at a program organized by the UML party-affiliated Nepal Intellectuals Council in Kathmandu, Oli emphasized the significance of combatting poverty as a pivotal step towards achieving socialism.

Oli highlighted the imperative of fostering prosperity and happiness among the Nepali populace, asserting that his party has long championed this concept for the advancement of socialism in Nepal. He underscored the importance of cooperation with the private sector to develop a socialist-oriented economy, emphasizing that national independence remains a foremost priority.

In his address, Oli articulated the principles guiding his party’s foreign policy, emphasizing mutual benefit, mutual respect, and social justice. He reiterated the dedication to realizing the “Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali” ideology tailored to the Nepalese context, with poverty alleviation as the cornerstone of Nepali development.
