Oman’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi, paid a courtesy call on President Ramchandra Paudel today at Rastrapati Bhawan, Sheetal Niwas. During the meeting, President Paudel highlighted the growing ties between Nepal and Oman, emphasizing the need to establish an Omani embassy in Kathmandu.
President Paudel noted that with the increasing number of Nepali workers in Oman, the establishment of an embassy in Kathmandu would be beneficial for both nations. He also underscored the importance of direct air connectivity, stating that it would facilitate trade, promote tourism, and strengthen relations at the people-to-people level.
Responding to President Paudel’s remarks, Minister Albusaidi expressed his government’s positive outlook on opening an embassy in Nepal and establishing direct flights between the two countries. He acknowledged the valuable contributions of Nepali workers in Oman, describing them as “calm, gentle, and hard-working” individuals who have played a significant role in the development of Oman.
Minister Albusaidi is currently on a two-day official visit to Nepal, having arrived on Monday. His visit underscores the growing diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations, with both sides expressing a commitment to further enhancing their relationship.
