Acting on the complaint, the police, in collaboration with Sankhuwasabha Police, apprehended Rai, who was subsequently brought to Kathmandu for legal proceedings. Chief of the Bureau, SSP Navinda Aryal, confirmed Rai’s arrest and stated that he has been remanded to judicial custody by the Kathmandu district court.
The complaint from Gaushala-26 alleged that her identity, including a photograph, was made public on social media without her consent. The Cyber Bureau took swift action in response to the violation of privacy.
