One Dead, Four Hospitalized After Consuming Wild Mushrooms in Tanahu

A tragic incident in Tanahu district has left one person dead and four others hospitalized after consuming wild mushrooms.

The District Police Office, Tanahu, confirmed the deceased as Dronapati Gurung, 85, from Aanbukhairani Rural Municipality-6. Dronapati fell critically ill after eating curry made from the toxic mushrooms and subsequently succumbed to the illness, according to DSP Deepak Kumar Raya.

Four other individuals who fell ill after consuming the poisonous mushrooms are reported to be out of danger. The affected individuals are Dil Bahadur Gurung, 54, Madhu Gurung, 57, Rana Bahadur Gurung, 92, and Pamphi Gurung, 58, police reported.

The group had consumed the wild mushrooms found in a nearby forest on June 15.
