Among those who will visit India are Speaker Yadav and Parliamentarians Sunita Baral, Chhiring Bahadur Lhamu Lama Tamang, Eakaman Thapaliya, Yogesh Gauchan, Hari Upreti, Shishir Khanal, and Gangaram Chaudhary.
The visit, extended in response to an invitation from India’s corresponding Parliamentary Committee, commenced with a warm welcome at Delhi Airport yesterday. Prior to their meeting with Speaker Birla, the Nepal Embassy in India hosted the delegation, where discussions primarily revolved around economic and social relations between the two neighboring nations. The talks underscored the shared commitment to fostering stronger ties.
The parliamentary team, comprising members from the Committee on International Relations & Tourism, is scheduled to stay in India from January 30th to February 6th. During their visit, the Nepali Embassy has provided strategic suggestions to the delegation, focusing on key areas for engagement with the Indian side.
Among the highlighted issues are the facilitation of easy access to SIM cards for Nepali citizens, advocacy for fair fees in educational institutes for Nepali students on par with their Indian counterparts, and addressing the persistent challenge of human trafficking. These discussions aim to enhance cooperation and address shared concerns for the mutual benefit of both nations.
