Parliamentary Probe to Record Statements from Home Minister and GB Rai, Says Gagan Thapa

Gagan Thapa, the General Secretary of the Nepali Congress (NC), announced today that the parliamentary investigation committee formed to probe the recent cooperative fraud case will record statements from all involved parties.
During his address at the parliament meeting on Sunday, Thapa confirmed that the probe panel is committed to summoning GB Rai, owner of Gorkha Media, and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, to document their roles in the alleged fraud.
Thapa emphasized the illegality of the transfer of funds from Surya Darshan Cooperative and other cooperatives to Gorkha Media. “The probe panel will investigate this case thoroughly and record statements from everyone involved in the fraud,” Thapa asserted.
The investigation aims to uncover the extent of the financial misconduct and ensure accountability among those implicated. This announcement comes amid growing concerns about financial transparency and governance within Nepal’s cooperative sector.
