Parties Agree to Continue Four-Party Socialist Front

The top leaders of key political parties have come together to affirm the continuation of the four-party Socialist Front. Following a meeting convened at the Prime Minister’s Residence in Baluwatar on Friday morning, leaders representing CPN (Unified Socialist), Janata Samajwadi Party, Nepal Communist Party led by Netra Bikram Chand, and CPN (Maoist Center) reached a consensus to uphold the Socialist Front and advance its programs.

Khadga Bahadur Bishwakarma, spokesperson for the Chand-led NCP, confirmed the agreement, expressing the collective commitment to sustaining the momentum of the Socialist Front. Additionally, the meeting saw a proactive decision to pursue the inclusion of CPN-UML in the Front. Bishwakarma highlighted the newfound optimism, citing a conducive environment following recent shifts in power dynamics.

“While our party has advocated for broader participation, including the UML, challenges persisted under the previous coalition. However, recent political transformations have paved the way for constructive discussions,” remarked Bishwakarma. He elaborated on a productive dialogue held with UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, indicating Oli’s receptiveness towards engagement.

“Chairman Oli has shown a positive inclination towards collaboration. Nonetheless, further deliberations are warranted on certain matters,” Bishwakarma emphasized. The responsibility for continued communication with Chairman Oli has been entrusted to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Unified Socialist Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal, and JSP Chairman Upendra Yadav.

As Nepal navigates evolving political landscapes, the commitment to the Socialist Front underscores a shared vision for progressive reforms and inclusive governance. The forthcoming engagements between the Front and CPN-UML hold the promise of broader consensus-building and collaborative endeavors for the nation’s welfare.
