The influence of the Westerly wind continues over Nepal, bringing partly to generally cloudy conditions in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, while the rest of the country experiences fair weather, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
Fog has been reported in many parts of the Tarai region, with meteorologist Rojan Lamichhane stating that Kathmandu Valley is expected to remain partly cloudy until the afternoon. The Valley recorded a minimum temperature of 8.5°C this morning, with maximum temperatures forecast between 18-20°C.
By this afternoon, the hilly regions are expected to see partly to generally cloudy skies, with chances of light rain at one or two places in Koshi, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Additionally, light snowfall is likely in some high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
For tonight, weather conditions will remain partly to generally cloudy in the hilly regions, with light snowfall possible in select high-altitude areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.
In the next 24 hours, scattered to light rain may occur at isolated places in the hilly regions of Koshi, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim, along with light snowfall in higher elevations of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim.
The Department has also cautioned against dense fog formation in the Tarai on Thursday morning, advising residents to stay alert as it may impact daily life, agriculture, health, transport, and aviation.
